I had no idea who I wanted to be when I crew up. I would daydream about being a social worker and helping people in need. I actually became a community health worker and it felt so much life social work. I loved it. It was a season in my life I will never forget. After working as a health care interpreter, community health worker and then a patient financial counselor.
I learned a few things about myself. I LOVE to serve. Its something that comes so naturally to me. I never knew what my true calling was until I decided to become a photographer. Being a successful photographers is more than pretty pictures. I believe what makes a great photographer is bringing joy to the wedding and capturing it during the whole wedding day. I get to bring a serving attitude to my brides and all their guests. I truly love my job because its more than a job, its a lifestyle.
The best part of this amazing job is that I also get to work with my husband. He leads our videography team and I love proving my couples with amazing full wedding photography and videography services. Being able to provide a stress free experience with gorgeous images on the best day of their lives is something I will never stop doing!

I'm from a small town in Northern Maryland that is surrounded by lush farmland - a place where everybody knows everybody. On any given day you can find me chasing around my toddler with coffee in hand or snuggled up watching Netflix. I have a love affair with Target as does everyone else. But the dollar section?! Come on now.. give me all the things!
My photography journey began when my daughter was born. I knew I wanted to capture everything. After lots of practice and education I started my business! Specializing in weddings and couples with a passion for motherhood and lifestyle photography.
I'm a simple person who enjoys sunshine, coffee, and laughter. Lets laugh together!

I have been married to my sweet husband, Kyle for over 8 years and we share a home in Central Maryland with our crazy rescue pup, JJ. We take way too many pictures of him sleeping in weird positions (he's our baby), he loves to lick cardboard boxes, anything that squeaks, cuddling on the couch and getting lots of lovings.
Kyle and I have a long and crazy love story, and against all odds, long distance and two continents, we made it! Every day we make small choices to enrich and grow our love instead of letting it pass us by. I like to seize the day, to dance in the kitchen, kiss under the moonlight and hold hands; always kiss goodnight and always say thank you and I love you.
When I am not behind the camera, I love to eat, especially sushi, Mexican food and lava cakes! I’m always up for a road trip, and lucky me, I married the perfect travel buddy! I have a desire to see the world and I think nothing compares to digging my toes in the sand, watching the sunrise at the beach and movie and popcorn on a rainy day.

I'm Mel!
In 2012, when my son was about 4 months old I was obsessed with document every little thing he did. But I hated my iPhone photos (basement lighting in our apartment didn't help) and I couldn't very well hire someone to come in every week.
Wedding photography is my speciality, I'm based in Frederick so I love all the local venues. Creating and capturing genuine, candid moments is a passion of mine. We do this by playing lots of games during a lot of our time together. Don't worry I'm there directing you every step of the way with posing and prompts!
This career is so rewarding. I get to create timeless and heart felt moments they will never forget.
